I find this the best spot in Marianna for Chinese. It's a small place but food is freshly made

I have been here several times when traveling through. It is not that it is bad, it is simply average in all aspects except the price, which is a bit high. A perfect example is that a quart of pork lo mein is $9.50 here. Most places have it between six and seven dollars. Lunch specials tend to be smaller than other places and, again, at higher price points.
Beyond the worn exterior facade, the place is clean and the staff is friendly, plus it is convenient off of the highway for travelers looking for a quick meal beyond the limitations of fast food.
Also, a pet peeve of mine that they, along with many other Chinese restaurants, are guilty of. They buy the cheapest plastic forks and spoons. Plastic ware so cheap it bends under a shred of meat and a few grains of rice. If they want someone shelling out ten bucks for pork lo mein, they can spend a few more pennies on a better fork. -

My husband and I grabbed some take out from Hong Kong Restaurant recently. We couldn't decide between the General Tso's Chicken and the Honey Chicken combination platters so we got both, each $8.50 and $8.75, respectively. Though just 1 of then is enough food for 2 to 3 people.
They each came with pork fried rice and a vegetable egg roll. The rice waa cooked pilaf style, my favorite, so each grain of rice was packed with flavor. The egg roll filling had a nice flavor and a perfect crunchy texture.
Between the two types of chicken, we preferred the Honey one. Neither had any texture but the flavor was good. I really wish the batter on the chicken would have been crunchy. Oh and the Honey sauce dripped onto my rice and ooo la la it was delish!
I still can't believe how much food we got for $20. The owners were very nice and made our order super fast. If I'm ever in Mariana again, I'll def be stopping for a little Hong Kong. -

So disappointed :( Egg foo young, General Tso's chicken, and fried rice were all pretty bad. The pork egg foo young came as a pea omelet with soy sauce- no "gravy" and barely any pork. General Tso's chicken was chewy and really dry. Fried rice was hard, flavorless, and plain; maybe it's just me but I like egg in my fried rice.
After trying this place and ordering all my favorites, I can for sure say I won't be back. :/
